Tuning Services
Wonder how the process works? Read here about what exactly I will do to help your instrument sound its best if you select Tom’s Tuning.
Tom’s Tuning Process
It is important that I leave you with your instrument sounding the best it has sounded in years, so I am diligent in each step of my process.
Pitch Raise
The longer your piano goes without being tuned, the more likely it is that your piano will need a pitch raise. The notes on your piano could be anywhere from 15 to 30% below pitch, without you even realizing! With this feature, I take the piano notes in their untuned state and raise them to be closer to their correct pitch.
Set the Temperament
Did you know your piano has a personality? Each piano has a unique sound or characteristic based on the materials used to build the piano and the length of the strings. When tuning your piano, I make sure to take these attributes into consideration, tuning your piano individually and uniquely to help it create its best sound.
Fine-Tuning
Each piano key needs to be tuned to its correct pitch, which requires the delicate process of fine-tuning. To conclude your piano tuning experience, I fine-tune your instrument. This fine-tuning follows the steps of completing a pitch raise and setting the temperament of your piano.
